Variant Management, Revolutionized
Unlock the full potential of product customization with Janus®—the scalable engineering automation solution seamlessly integrated with PTC Creo Parametric and PTC Windchill. Janus® empowers companies to automate the configuration of order-specific variants, including variable dimensions, without manual intervention. By merging the efficiency of a Configure-to-Order (CTO) process with the adaptability of an Engineering-to-Order (ETO) approach, Janus® streamlines development workflows, reduces time-to-market, and ensures higher product quality. Experience next-level variant management with dynamic configuration, seamless system integration, and complete transparency across product structures.
Create Logic
With the Janus® Logic Editor, users can visually define, verify, and manage product logic. The Logic Editor enables seamless integration of information from CAD, PLM, and ERP systems, providing precise and transparent control over product structures and configurations. The automated creation of EBOM and MBOM ensures efficiency in downstream processes and significantly reduces manual effort.
Configure Assemblies
The Parameter Editor not only offers an interface to Windchill Options & Variants (O&V) but also enables users to quickly and easily create their own configurations. From defining individual product variants to reusing existing configuration options, Janus® meets all the requirements of modern and efficient configuration management while supporting nearly all automation capabilities available in Creo.
Automate Documents
In addition to the many new possibilities Janus offers, the individual variant or specific order always remains the focus. It is therefore only logical that Janus also provides functions for automating individual order documents such as drawings or manufacturing data. Janus analyzes which data already exists and which needs to be fully automatically generated.
Create Individual Orders
To fully leverage all these potentials, one fundamental requirement must be met: the interaction between CAD and PLM. Variant management cannot function without a PLM system—and vice versa! In addition to its integration with Windchill Options & Variants, Janus offers interfaces to CPQ, SAP, and ERP systems to enable this exact interaction. The result of this creation process is a fully automated digital twin, order-specific drawings, and accurate visualization data, which serve as the foundation for all downstream processes.

Where Janus provides support
Flexibility
The ability to respond quickly and effectively to new market demands is a crucial competitive factor today. This requires efficient yet flexible variant management that enables companies to transform individual customer requests and dynamic market trends into market-ready products in the shortest possible time
Efficiency
Through the automation and standardization of configuration processes, Janus sustainably optimizes development and manufacturing workflows. Product variants can thus be implemented significantly faster, more efficiently, and error-free. This results in a noticeable reduction in process costs and a significant simplification of product complexity.
Quality
Variant management not only optimizes product development and manufacturing processes but also reduces lead times and costs by making complexity manageable. This enables companies to deliver innovative products faster and sustainably strengthen their competitive advantage.
Traceability
Janus supports comprehensive traceability of configuration changes down to the individual component level. By seamlessly capturing and documenting all variant configurations, Janus effectively helps companies comply with standards and legal requirements. Previous variants and their development history are always traceable and can be specifically reused when needed—ensuring greater transparency, quality assurance, and efficiency throughout the entire product development process.
Reuse
Through the intelligent classification and reuse of existing components and assemblies, the number of individual new developments is significantly reduced. This minimizes development effort and lowers complexity. Maximize the reuse of proven components and successfully bring new products to market in a fraction of the usual development time.
Complexity
Janus specifically supports companies in reducing the growing complexity in product development through automation, transparency, and a structured variant logic. A key advantage of Janus is that fully pre-constructing all product variants is no longer necessary. Instead, variants are generated dynamically and as needed, significantly reducing development effort and conserving resources.
